COMOSYS supports multiple international design codes (Turkish, AISC-ASD, AISC-LRFD, EuroCode EC3, etc.), ensuring global adaptability. It offers flexible design scenarios, allowing users to automatically test alternative section types, apply constructability limits, rotate profiles, and even design complex custom members like crane girders with composite sections.
All design parameters are auto-calculated but can be overridden for special cases. The software also provides intelligent load combination generation, expanding a few template combos into hundreds of design scenarios in seconds, removing manual effort and errors.
The Design Evaluator, helps assess structural quality by identifying weak points (e.g., deflection-driven failures or poor profile selection). K-factor calculations for buckling lengths are handled accurately and automatically, improving reliability.
With One-Click Design, COMOSYS automates the iterative design cycle until the lightest safe solution is found, though manual interactive design is also available. The program also includes deflection checks with customizable criteria for different member types and lengths, plus special global checks like drifts, torsional irregularities, and shear comparisons.
